Bolyard Lumber is a member of the Midwest Building Suppliers Association, Inc. The Association has consulted with its attorneys regarding the appropriate actions for its members to take in light of the Order and the exceptions provided in the Order.
The Executive Order issued by Michigan Governer Grethcen Whitmer permits workers to leave their homes if they are considered "critical infrastructure workers." The Order specifically relies on identification of such workers as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, which includes as critical infrastructure workers those who "support the manufacture and distribution of forest products, including, but not limited to timber, paper, and other wood products."
The Association and Bolyard Lumber recognizes the seriousness of the governmental efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and Bolyard Lumber has instructed its employees to follow all recommended procedures for minimizing potential exposure to themselves and others.
